About me

My name is Mike Murchison.

I'm a cognitive science and psychology student at the University of Toronto. I'm interested in web startups, group psychology, music and movies. I don't know much about design, but I aspire to. I love reading, striking up a conversation and meeting new people. Above all, I'm crazy about learning. I feel a deep need to be constantly self improving.

This is my blog where I write about pretty much anything. My earliest posts document my time in a business validation programme I co-founded in New Zealand.

The name ninedots is a reference to the nine dots problem, which is a commonly used measure of insight problem solving. The problem asks you to draw four lines (without lifting their pencil) through all nine dots. It is considered an insight problem because it requires you to perform a mental set transformation and reformulate the problem space to include the area outside the nine dots. See if you can solve the problem in only three moves.

Let's have a conversation...
