"Field Work Needed"

Josh pitching his "Click" product idea to members of the Nucleus
A problem still remains: most of the people I am engaging with online will not be my typical users. Simply put, they are far too techy and not representative of my customer base.
I need to get out into the field and do some active customer development. I need to talk to real people. Thankfully I am living in a university town, so my target demographic is easily accessible. I need to iron out the types of general questions I will pose to these people. Quickly, off the top of my head, some general questions will be:

  • Have you ever considered investing in the stock market?
  • Why did you / Why didn't you? (The key here is to assess whether they were profit driven, experience driven, or emotionally driven)
  • How did you find the experience?
  • If the financial barriers to entry into the stock market were low enough for you to readily participate, would you?
  • What kinds of things would you be looking for in your ideal investment platform?
  • What do you want to learn about the stock market?
  • Would you be willing to invest alongside thousands of others and manage your investment together?
  • If there were a stock market game, what kind of things would you look for in it? What would be the greatest feature?
  • Can I take down your email and follow-up with you later?
